Suzuki 60HP 4stroke

Suzuki Marine announced this week a new engine platform for its 60HP  outboard categories. The announcement came from Gus Blakely, Suzuki Marine’s vice president of sales, in a virtual meeting with Suzuki dealers, boat builders and members of the boating press from around the world.

A physical press launch of the new Suzuki 60HP 4stroke outboard is scheduled to take place at the end of June at the new Suzuki Marine Technical Center in Panama City, Florida. We hope to provide you with a hands-on report following those tests. In the meantime, we know that new engines are based on an inline-four-cylinder, 16-valve powerhead with 1.25 liters of displacement—same displacement as the current 40/60.

Suzuki outboards have won several of the “Innovation Awards” awarded by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). The NMMA is a trade association representing boat, marine engine and accessory manufacturers in the U.S.[8] Listed below are the Suzuki outboard models that have won the “Innovation Award”:

1987: DT200 Exanté
1997: DF60 and DF70
1998: DF40 and DF50
2003: DF250
2006: DF300
2011: DF40A and DF50A
